Van Gogh only sold one painting during his entire lifetime. The painting was called "Red Vineyard At Arles." He didn't start painting until he was 27, and produced all of his more than 2,000 works, including around 900 paintings and 1100 drawings or sketches, during the last ten years of his life. Most of his best-known works were produced in the final two years of his life. He painted a painting per day during the last 70 days of his life. Most sources say that Van Gogh's last painting was "Wheatfield with Crows", but one link claims that he was working on the second of two portraits of a Dr. Gachet when he comitted suicide.
